Coffee was first grown in Vietnam in the 1800s when the then French rulers brought the plant with them. While the Arabica variety of the plant struggled to grow in the humid plains and hills of Vietnam and Cambodia, the Robusta coffee beans found a new home with ideal growing conditions. Since then, Vietnam has become the world’s largest exporter of Robusta beans, and the world’s second largest exporter of coffee beans. At Au Parc we serve our Italian style coffees from an Arabica-Robusta blend and our Vietnamese style coffees are prepared from pure Robusta.
